Film Description
A fantastical comedic short film shot in Cape Town, South Africa, for the #myrodereel2020 competition. It tells the fable of Jan van Hunks and how the clouds (table cloth) form on top of Table Mountain.
Off The Script Films’ Review
Production value is one thing; creativity is another. But the team at Atree Sound & Film manages to combine both to make their latest short film, Unholy Smokes: The Tale of Van Hunks & The Stranger. A whimsical turn on an old folktale. From taking a look at the Behind the Scenes video, I can tell just how much work they’ve put into their project. From the shots, the set design, the music – everything was so creatively put together. Not only was this film well-made, but it was also entertaining. The fast-paced and dramatic scenes made me laugh along as I watched Jan van Hunks huffing and puffing on his pipe. Atree Sound & Film have delighted me with their whimsical turn on an old folktale.
