Off The Script Films’ Review

Zephyr Entertainment brings an eerie tale to life with their short film Bum Promises, which explores the story of a homeless man, manipulating his way into the home of two grieving siblings. A dreary mood is immediately set by Michael Digioia’s somber cinematography and the haunting original music by Haven Johnson. Many of these elements shine a light on the already tension-filled storyline. Ian Boyd’s performance brings depth and darkness to his broken character. The screenplay, provided by Jason David, brings an emotional twist through climactic scenes all throughout the film. A high level of professionalism is clearly seen in their production. Off The Script Films searches for the true ingenuity within indie cinema, and we are proud to recognize this project as our next Short Film of the Month.
